The 96th Floor

January 19th, 2008 · No Comments

last night we arrived in chicago for our weekend getaway. we’re looking forward to a weekend of fun, without too much scheduling. last night we got all gussied (if that’s a real word) up and headed out to the john hancock building. there are three options once you’re there.

1. go up to the 94th floor observatory for $12 per person
2. go to the 95th floor restaurant for a really expensive meal
3. go to the 96th floor signature room for free.

we opted for the 96th floor. michelle enjoyed some foo-foo girly drink, i got a glass or 20yr tawny port, and we enjoyed a cheese tray complete with assorted crackers, goat cheese, fig chutney, a fancy variety of french blue cheese, and something else :) as we sat for an hour or so we enjoyed each other company, the drinks, the cheese platter, and the view…oh the view (taken from my iphone)

this is looking directly west from the 96th floor. we ventured around to the south windows to see the sears tower, and over to the east windows to catch a glimpse of navy pier and that famous ferris wheel. i think it’s gonna be a pretty great weekend.
