it’s been four long days since my last post. we’ve been cleaning the house to have family over for christmas. we have 3-4 christmases with a year with different parts of the family…the christmas at our house has come and passed, now we’re at my parents, and this afternoon we travel to michelle’s dad’s house in peoria. that’s what we do…go go go, and this year with the dog. it’s always a little stressful to get from one place to another, to spend “enough” time with each parent, but it’s always worth it. there’s nothing like family, there’s nothing like christmas, there’s nothing like family at christmas.
as soon as my wife and brother wake up, we’ll open gifts and eat breakfast before heading to grandma’s (across town) for gifts with her and some lunch. my mom and dad still insist on setting our stockings in the middle of the night and claiming they’re from santa. it’s a little bit of fun for them i think, a reminder of years past and memories shared. it’s fun for us to wake up and be “surprised” too.
i’ve got plenty to write about over the next week or two, and some time to do it since i’m not working too much between now and new year’s. i’ll post some pictures too once i get back home and get them processed. the power of christmas. i never have understood why it has the impact on folks that it does. a time to share, to be together, a celebration with family…that’s the important thing.

I agree that there’s nothing like Christmas with family. The traveling is well worth it when we get to see everyone. I can’t imagine Christmas any other way.
