I just posted this review about a local burger joint in bloomington called meatheads. i haven’t found the actual website yet, but i’m keeping my eye out for it. if you ever to “happen” through this city, give it a shot…

Meatheads is a unique concept, birthed in Bloomington, IL the same home of Biaggi’s Italian Restaurant and Steak ‘n Shake. I’ve talked to the owner a couple times when I’ve been in…and he’s dedicated to his customers.

When I went in and ordered, I was really pleased with how simple the menu is. It’s either a burger, hot dog, grilled cheese, and fries. There isn’t too much to get confused about. Standrad topping (ketchup, mustard, pickle, etc.) are included as you select. Cheese bacon and a number of sauces are an additional 50 cents each.

The burgers are a little small, but the fries are HUGE. That was one complaint I had when eating there. I wanted more burger, and less fries. The owner acknowledged that it was a new start, and that he was going to be making some changes to proportions.

Meatheads is set to open another restaurant in Champaign, IL in late 2008/early 2009. If this thing takes off, which it very well may, look for this place to spread all over the midwest.
